Mulwala Country Music Spectacular News of 2010 Festival.
We
made reference in the newsletter re Club Mulwala Country Music
Festival 2009, in Brian Letton’s words “This festival is going from
strength to strength” and that it was, the best of our four
festivals. The same words could well be applied to 2010 except
2010, our fifth was even better than our fourth--- a capacity
audience witnessed some amazing performances by the red carpet
artists of traditional Australian and Bush Ballad genre.
Although not entirely Australian songs, the ones that were not, were
sung by Australians sounding like Australians. The audience were as
in 2009, informed and appreciative, affording Amos Morris the
accolade of a standing ovation for his moving rendition of “Amazing
Grace” Well in excess of five hundred people stood as one---Many a
tear or lump in the throat.
All artists who featured at Club Mulwala April/May 2010 were in
their own right, headline acts, and due to over whelming response
and request, they are all booked to re-appear Aril/May 2011 with
Dianne Lindsay and Peter Simpson joining the line-up.
The early bird show and subsequence shows in the Anzac Room 2010
featured the very smooth performer in Ian “Bidge” Boyd who had the
dance floor packed on the Thursday “Early bird” free show. He
played memories and several of his own excellent compositions in a
country carbaret performance.
Once again, we thank Club Mulwala staff, in the absence of C.E.O.
Micheal Mullarvey, who was on a well earned holiday in Egypt, ably
led by Peter Harbrow, Jaki Brear, to Meagan in marketing, Darryl and
Club Director Wendy Saunders for her words at the finale.
We once again thank the coach companies for their support – Smart
Tours of Warrnambool and Goodall’s Bus Lines of Bairnsdale.
As we do each year, following the finale, we push a few tables
together in the Anzac Room, this is where artists and fans, helpers
and friends wind down, as they mingle and share a drink before
wandering down into “The Oriental Pearl” for a wonderful buffet
meal.
We look forward to November, 5th, 6th & 7th,
2010 and then April 29th, 30th and May 1st
2011.
Kind Regards
Morgs
