Mulwala Country Music Spectular

 About Us .....

The History of ClubMulwala Country Music Spectacular ....

We always had an interest in country music but life and times did not allow that interest to be pursued. Situations changed,  I met Jan and we came together with many mutual interests, one of them being country music, especially traditional country music.

Along with friends several years ago at the Mildura Country Music festival, we attended a programme at the Red Cliffs Club.  On that programme were the following artists -  Lindsay Butler and The Butler Boys Band, Shaza Leigh, The Gunbarrel Highwaymen, Yolande Gibson, Nathan Charlton, Brian Letton, Tom Maxwell and a few others.  This was the very best Country Music show I had seen.  A four hour show which we felt we would like to emulate, but over an entire weekend - which weekend?.

We were told the slowest weekend tourist wise along the Murray River was Mother’s Day weekend --  second weekend in May— a challenge!!

Our numbers have grown since the first “Club Mulwala Country Music Spectacular" in 2006 with a change of dates to the first weekend in May 2009.  This saw a huge rise in numbers.

We continue to strive for improvement each year with help from Lindsay Butler and Shaza Leigh (from LBS) who have been providing excellent sound, performance and advice from the outset.

We are always in mind of artists who are both talented and popular and so try to maintain a balance with- in the programme.
We have created an extensive mailing list over the period of time that we have been running this festival.  We are enthusiastic about the response as the popularity of this event increases.  If you wish to be included on our mailing list, please contact us.

The Origin of Twin Rivers & Tuckers Creek Productions ....

Twin Rivers and Tuckers Creek Productions is the banner under which we operate.  It is a mouthful, but is pretty easy once you say it a few times. The whole 'thing' has evolved from a request from a local publican who asked us to put on a country music night at his local pub.  We agreed to do it for a nominal fee and went ahead with the promotion and production of that night.  It was so successful that other publicans approached us.  Our first show was to be a one off event!
We were offered more incentive to produce more shows at that particular hotel, they were happy as good numbers resulted in solid bistro figures.  This encouraged us and ensured the future in promotion as far as we were concerned.

  The Logo ....

We looked at a logo or two and name or two, eventually coming up with a name relating to an area in this country that is special to us - the Wentworth area.
Tuckers Creek runs out of  the Murray River and joins the Darling River just upstream from the Murray/Darling Junction thus forming an island known as Curlwa so –that’s how  “Twin Rivers and Tuckers Creek Productions” came about.  The logo is a semi silhouetted sketch I did of myself in a reflective pose.
